Nyla’s Rules for Recycling Plastic
Check the rules for what recyclables are accepted in your local program.
Check for the number to make sure it’s recyclable where you live.
At a minimum, most programs accept plastic bottles and containers like laundry detergent and milk jugs, but make sure you check with your local provider.
Rinse and empty before recycling.
Plastic bags are not accepted in most curbside recycling programs. But don’t worry – you may be able to recycle plastic bags at local participating grocery or retail stores.
Plastic straws and other small loose plastics are typically not accepted in your curbside cart.
